Gas fire extinguisher
What is a gas fire extinguishing system?
The gas fire extinguishing system uses various safe gases to extinguish the fire in the environment. Gas fire extinguishing methods are used when due to the high sensitivity of the environment, the use of water and foam may damage the devices and equipment in the environment.
Application of gas fire extinguishing system

  • Types of electrical switch rooms (electrical room)

  • Control rooms

  • IT, database and server rooms

  • IT systems and computer rooms

  • Medical imaging centers

Advantages of gas fire extinguishing system
1) After the fire operation, the remaining material in the capsule can be used.
2) The annual charge is made only when the contents of the capsule are completely exhausted.
3) The gases used in the fire extinguishing system are non-hazardous and cannot be mixed with other gases.
4) The gases inside the capsule do not lose their properties over time.
5) Fire extinguishing operations are carried out at a high speed.
6) After the fire extinguishing operation, no residue remains in the environment.
7) There is high flexibility in the design of the gas fire extinguishing system.
8) The cost of buying, installing and repairing gas fire extinguishing system is low.
9) The gas fire extinguishing system does not have a destructive effect on the environment and the ozone layer.

Types of fire extinguishing gas
In general, fire extinguishing gases can be divided into two general categories:
1) Inert gases (IG01, IG100, IG55)
2) Halocarbon gases (HFC227ea, HFC125)

Inert gas fire extinguishing systems are of the following types:

  • Gas fire extinguishing system IG01: It consists of argon gas and its mechanism of action is oxygen reduction.

  • IG55 gas fire extinguishing system: It consists of an equal combination of argon and nitrogen, and its mechanism of action is oxygen reduction.

  • IG100 gas fire extinguishing system: It consists of nitrogen and extinguishes the fire by removing oxygen. The remarkable thing about the IG100 gas fire extinguishing system is that it causes suffocation if it is used excessively.

  • Gas fire extinguishing system (INERGEN) IG541: includes a combination of nitrogen, argon and carbon dioxide, with the highest percentage of nitrogen gas and the lowest percentage of carbon dioxide gas.

Halocarbon gas fire extinguishing system
The agents used in halocarbon fire extinguishing are clean agents and have no toxic properties. Halocarbon is insulated against electric current and its activation time is less than 10 seconds. This method includes the following types.

  • FM200 gas fire extinguishing system: FM200 gas fire extinguishing system, whose other name is HFC-227EA, is a good alternative to Halon gas, because Halon gas has a destructive effect on the environment. Its chemical composition is HeptaFluoro Propane and through the coolness it creates, it reduces heat and extinguishes fire. This gas is applied through fixed piping and nozzles in every environment.

  • HFC-125 gas fire extinguishing system: This system is also a type of halocarbon fire extinguishing system and extinguishes the fire through heat removal. HFC-125 is a colorless and odorless gas and does not conduct electricity, this gas has physical properties similar to halon, but does not destroy the ozone layer.

Gas fire extinguishing system components
Each gas fire extinguishing system consists of the following three parts:

1) The source or cylinder where the fire extinguishing agent is located.
2) Pipe and nozzle that transports the gas inside the source.
3) Start the fire extinguishing system
